Manzano Mountains State Park is a nice little campground. That is about all that it is. There are a few hiking trails in the park and a lot of geocaches to hunt. Our campsite had a nice sheltered table. There is only one water spigot available, do bring your own water. There is a lot of stuff to do nearby, such as the old mission ruins and the National Forest.
There is not much at this park. A place to set up camp and flush toilets and that's all. However there is some great hiking opportunities in the area.
Cozy but spacious, very well maintained, quiet, friendly staff, great hiking trails.
This NM state park is beautiful but more densely wooded than I expected at 7200' elevation. Very dog friendly with very helpful camp hosts. We stayed in site 31 in a Class A Motorhome where we had just enough sun for our solar panels. There are 7 first-come sites in the loop up front but they're mostly very shady. Only site 11 of the first-come sites has electricity. All other electic sites are reservation only and in the summer you'll want to reserve months in advance. It's a very popular place. There's a fantastic group site for up to 50 people & about 10 parking spaces that was always open. Our site was in a small loop past the group site with 7 boondocking sites. I highly recommend.
Very well maintained state park with mature tree cover and all campsites. It also has a nice ate of hiking trails inside the state park and west trail access to the national park. Electric hookups at some sites with water and a dump station at the entrance.
